Here are some sound examples from the Chicago-based producer Scott "Fritzy" Fritz of Stranded On A Planet Productions.

The CL 1B has been used across the master buss with a medium attack and release, and about 1-2 dB of gain reduction. Also, the CL1B is on the lead and backing vocals as the main compressors. This is what Scott Fritz says about the sound: "The CL1B definitely brings out the grit and enhances the stereo field, giving the mix a dirtier rock sound."
