Metal Amp Room Owners: Buy Bass Amp Room at 50% off for the Next Two Weeks
For a limited time, Metal Amp Room owners can buy Bass Amp Room at a special discounted price of $99 (excl. VAT).
Bass Amp Room was designed to handle all your bass amp needs, from dirty rock to modern clean. It consists of a model of a classic bass amplifier, three distinctive speaker cabinets with click-and-drag mics, and a blendable DI section with tone controls and a limiter. That's it. And it's all you need to create a unique signature sound - the strength lies in the ease of use of the individual blocks and the huge range of sounds these can produce when combined.
Tube-Tech's Classic PE 1C Program Equalizer Released
"We are excited to experience the PE 1C in the digital domain and impressed once again by the skills of Softube."
John G. Petersen Designer and founder of Tube-Tech
Softube and Tube-Tech partner up once again to release another Tube-Tech classic! By releasing a dead-on digital version of the PE 1C program equalizer we'd like to wish Tube-Tech a happy 25th birthday! The PE 1C is based on the very first Tube-Tech design made 25 years ago and today the PE 1C is a modern classic still in production, widely used and appreciated by those that seek that magic but elusive vintage Pultec sound.
In creating this plug-in we have taken the same extreme attention to detail that Tube-Tech took 25 years ago when they set out to make the most accurate Pultec style equalizer possible. All this becomes evident when hearing the analog characteristics this plug-in recreates. We're proud to bring you another blue unit for your virtual racks and hope you'll enjoy it!
Tonelux's Famous Tilt Equalizer Released for all Platforms
"This Tilt EQ really is a quick, one knob fixer. I'm finding it very easy to get a fast, great sounding result, and a lot of times, at festivals and such, speed is of the essence. The Loudness curve does exactly what it's supposed to as well. Cool stuff!"
John Kerns FOH Engineer
(Sum 41, No Doubt, etc.)
For the first time in the digital domain, Softube is proud to
announce the release of both the Tonelux Tilt and Tonelux
Tilt Live equalizers. Fitted with the Tilt knob and transformers
from the famous MP1a mic preamps, a newly
designed Loud filter, and easy-access High and Low
cut filters, the natural place for the Tonelux Tilt
plug-in is the first insert slot of every track.
The Tilt focuses on only doing things
that sound good. By spending a lot of time perfecting every detail,
Paul Wolff, designer and founder of Tonelux, has come up with a one-knob
equalizer design that is simple, fast, and very effective.
Tonelux Tilt can be bought right here in the web store or through our authorized dealers, but before that you should definitely get the 20-day demo and try it out yourself!
We finally felt it was time to change the looks on our web site... Even if we liked the messy and cosy look we had before, it became too difficult to update so we just had to do something about it.
Just let us know if you find any broken links, missing images, inconsistencies, or just plain weird stuff. Remember, we're audio guys. Not web gurus.

Valley People Dyna-mite Finally Released!
"There is always the debate if plug-ins sound close to the
original. With the Softube Dyna-mite I hear absolutely no difference,
those guys nailed it."
Michael Wagener,
(Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Dokken, Alice Cooper, etc.)
In our opinion, the Dyna-mite is just about the coolest dynamics
processor there is. The typical use is to squash drums
(hard limiting), add some punch to the drums or bass (limiting in
AVG mode), or gate drums and get some really punchy effects. You
can of course use it for de-essing, ducking, keying, noise gating as
well, and you will probably notice that once you get your head
around it, you'll be able to use it on just about anything!
"...the 'Distressor of the Eighties.'"
Joe Chicarelli, (Beck, U2, The Strokes, Elton John, etc.)
Valley People Dyna-mite can be bought through Softube's web store or our authorized dealers, but before that perhaps you should listen to some
sound examples, or try the 20-day demo. We don't want
you to buy something you don't like. But you will love it, we promise!
On the left we have a video with Valley People owner Alan Hyatt telling the
story behind Valley People and the Dyna-mite
...and then we have a couple of sound example videos. Find more videos
like this together with audio examples one on
our sound
examples page or on our YouTube channel.

Normally we don't announce stuff this long before a release, but since we wanted to show it on the Frankfurt Musikmesse we might as well show it to the rest of the world...
So here's a sneak preview of our latest baby: the Valley People Dyna-mite multi-dynamics tool. We will release it for real on May 3, and that is also the day when demos will be available.

3 Days to go on Trident Introductory Offer!
Don't forget that the Trident A-Range plug-in is available at a special introductory price ($50-$120 off) for 3 more days. Starting March 1, The plug-in will be $279 (native) or $449 (TDM).
"3k on the A-Range is God's gift to rock guitars!!!"
The emulations of these amps are extremely accurate and without the
influence of presets, effects or even something as simple as a tuner,
the amp tones remain faithful to the original amps that we know and love.
While we have been focusing on the Trident release (we're just four guys,
can't do everything at the same time), reviewers around the globe
have been busy reviewing our other products.
First up are two German
magazines, Bassquarterly
and Professional Audio
Musik & Equipment (Click to the link to read the review!). Bassquarterly raves about how
intuitive Bass Amp Room is and that it has
everything you need for your bass sounds without having to
possess a degree in applied computer science. We
agree.
Professional Audio Musik & Equipment has one of the most thorough
reviews we've ever seen. Seven (!) pages of comparing
the Tube-Tech CL 1B hardware with our software. Amazing!
They call the plug-in "an authentic emulation of the Lydkraft
hardware", "Spitzenklasse, sehr gut.".
Finally, we just got a brilliant three page review of Amp Room Bundle
in Guitarist Australia where reviewer Kris Petersen sums it up by
giving it 5/5 on all accounts (except features) and saying
"What
a fantastic set of plug-ins!"

Trident A-Range Equalizer Released
The Trident A-Range is a legendary piece of equipment. As only
thirteen A-Range consoles were ever made, it remains a holy grail for
sound engineers and producers around the world that hope to create
equal works of art to those that were originally recorded on the
A-Range — David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Queen, Elton John, the list
goes on...
The A-Range plug-in from Softube is the first and only native (VST/AU/RTAS)
and TDM plug-in that has been fully endorsed by original designer Malcolm Toft and Trident
Audio.
A fully functional 20-day demo can be downloaded from http://www.softube.com.
With the Marshall JMD:1 amplifier, a new era in digital guitar
amplification has begun. Marshall's analog excellence is combined with
Softube's patented simulation technology to make rock 'n' roll's
most comprehensive and sophisticated amplifier, while still staying true to the Marshall tone and
heritage.
For the JMD:1, Softube has contributed hardware for the
pre-amp and signal processing parts, as well as the
software. This marks a new beginning for us, as it is
the first product where Softube has contributed to the
hardware design.

Interview: Glenn Rosenstein - "I love it, I absolutely love it"
Born and raised in New York City, Glenn Rosenstein began his music
career at the legendary Power Station recording studio, assisting
alongside some of the best and brightest producers, engineers and
artists in the business. Honing his craft at New York's historic Sigma
Sound, Glenn became a highly sought-after mixer and remix engineer,
creating work for such artists as U2, Madonna, Talking Heads, The
Ramones, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and many others. We mananged to get a
moment of Glenn's time and asked him about his work and what he thinks
about our FET Compressor.
We did a demo session at high end audio dealer Audio Dog
yesterday. I (Niklas) did the playing (and lots of talking) while
Torsten took blurry photos with his cell phone...
It was a nice session with a interested and knowledgable audience
(among them was Mira, the audio dog), and lots of guitar and bass talk. I
don't think I had the chance to even mention our EQ's...

Reviews, Reviews, Raving Reviews!!! (En Masse!)
We have recently had tons of raving reviews sent to us! We try to
update the reviews section on our web site, but sometimes it's just
too much work... Here are a couple of excerpts from the last
month:
Paul White, (the man, the myth, the legend), from Sound
On Sound
speaks about Spring Reverb and
Tube Delay:
—Spring Reverb is by far the most authentic-sounding
spring emulation I've heard so far.
—Even when you set the feedback control right on the
edge of building up into feedback, the background mush created by
the recirculating delays sounds exactly right.
—It's
a big winner for me and is a major player in all
my mixes from now on!
...and then we have Niklas Silén from Pro Rec who did a
raving review of the FET Compressor:
—I can not imagine myself
working without it, even though we have the hardware equivalent in
the studio.
—It is a very versatile and
creative tool that cannot be mimicked nor matched by any other
plug-in as far as I know.
—Awesome sound quality.
Finally, there's been lots of German reviews lately. Audiowerk, our
German distributor, says they're fantastic. But we don't speak German
(kein Deutsch, por favor) so we just have to trust them on that. But
check out the raving Passive-Active Pack review in the latest issue
of Keys Magazine (2009/12)!

With over 20 years in the business, Tony Shepperd is a veteran
engineer, producer and mixer. Artists he has worked with include
Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Kenny Loggins and Faith Hill. Working
with this kind of talent, it's no surprise that Tony has access to the

Tube-Tech CL 1B Native Released with 25% Introductory Offer
After many many user requests and quite a bit of hard work, we are
extremely proud to announce the release of the Tube-Tech CL 1B plug-in
for native formats. The CL 1B is a true studio classic, heard on
tons and tons of records for the past 20 years. Like its hardware
counterpart, the Tube-Tech CL 1B native plug-in sounds soft, smooth,
groovy and can compress an insane amount of dB's without sounding
bad.
In October, Tube-Tech CL 1B Native is available at a special 25% off introductory offer through the Softube web store and authorized dealers. Don't miss this opportunity to get extra-affordable natural musical compression!
A fully functional 10 day demo can be downloaded from
http://www.softube.com.
We often get questions about our modeling and plug-in creation
process, so here is a short video that shows some of the work that was involved in the
making of the CL 1B plug-in.
This video is a short demonstration of the features of the CL 1B plug-in.

Raving Reviews on Passive-Active Pack and FET Compressor
Sound and Recording have just published a raving review on the Passive-Active Pack and
the FET Compressor:
"I may go out on a limb here, but I claim that the Swedish define the
standard of what is possible in today's native DAWs regarding
'Analog-Processing' with these processors. Although I feel a bit
sheepish by pushing Softube this hard: but you only have yourself
to blame if you don't grab it."
We have finally received the boxes for the Passive-Active Pack (sorry
about the delay!) and the first shipments left our office a couple of
minutes ago. So it will soon arrive in a store close to you!

Softube Embarks on Educational Collaboration with SAE in Germany
Linköping, Sweden. August 21st 2009 - Softube and SAE Institute join
forces to bring the full range of Softube products to all
workstations at SAE campuses across Germany. All students will be
able to use Softube's line of stellar quality plug-ins, including
Metal Amp Room and FET Compressor, as part of their education.
Digidesign has once again asked us to participate in the Massive Pack
bundle, and this time we chose to include the FET Compressor for
TDM/RTAS/VENUE.
The version included in the Massive Pack is the same as the normal
retail version except that the license only covers the TDM/RTAS/VENUE
formats and is non-transferable. If you wish to upgrade to a license
that also includes VST and AU formats, please contact us.
We are very proud to present the Passive-Active Pack, consisting of
two modeled vintage equalizers and one thrilling new creation!
The Passive-Active Pack is a collection of three very different
equalizers, each with its own character and quirks. The equalizers contain
emulations of real workhorse equalizers, used on thousands of
recordings from past to present.
The Passive Equalizer is a three-band EQ with an unprecedented clear
and open sound, a warm low end and sparkling top, while the Active
Equalizer is the perfect complement, with three fully parametric bands
and a tight and focused sound. The Focusing Equalizer is an
untraditional take on the EQ concept where the low, mid and high bands
move automatically and musically in relation to the high and low cut
filters. It also features filters from the Passive and Active EQ's as
well as an outstanding one-knob Saturation control.
Softube distributor MV Pro Audio launches a time-limited EPIC Bundle

Softube's Santa Claus Alter Ego Goes Solid-State with FET Compressor
Linköping, Sweden. Dec 18th 2008 - Softube is shipping the FET
Compressor plug-in for both native VST, AU, RTAS as well as the
DSP-based TDM and VENUE formats. FET Compressor is available today at
the Softube web shop ($279 for the native version and $449 for the
TDM/VENUE version, excl. VAT).
When creating FET Compressor, Softube set out to make the most
accurate emulation of the most famous solid state compressor, and very
much effort has been spent modeling the real hardware to make sure
that the emulation sounds exactly the same.
Nothing must stand in the way of the sound. Every single part of
the simulation contributes to making this piece unique. The extremely
fast attack, all the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) distortion
that comes from the different parts of the compressor and the
extremely careful way the signal is handled and conditioned throughout
the signal chain.
On top of that we have added some useful features that still have
that analog sound - but features that would've been hard or even
impossible to implement with analog electronics, such as the
continuous ratio, parallel compression, detector filtering and
lookahead. That way you will be able to get the best of two
worlds.
A fully functional 10 day demo can be downloaded from
http://www.softube.com.

version 1.1 has been released. The update is available for free for
existing users.

track? Well, you're not alone... By popular demand this feature is
now available in version 1.1!
Presets
To demonstrate the wide range of sounds in Metal Amp Room, we have
added our favorite office presets.
Metal Amp Room v.1.1 is available as a free upgrade for all users:

Digidesign Ships Massive Pack 7, with a Massive Softube Contribution
We are proud to announce that Acoustic Feedback Deluxe is
included in Digidesign's Massive Pack 7. Together with the Acoustic
Feedback Deluxe you'll find three more plug-ins that were developed
or co-developed by Softube: the Abbey Road Brilliance Pack,
Brainworx bx_digital TDM and Flux Epure II TDM.
Softube Ships Tube Delay - A Combined Valve Preamp and Digital Delay Effect
Linköping, Sweden. July 8th 2008 – Softube is now shipping the Tube Delay plug-in for VST, AU and RTAS. Tube Delay is available today at the Softube web shop ($99 excl. VAT).
Tube Delay is a marriage between analog and digital, combining the warmth and natural compression from tubes with the features and versatility of a digital delay. The effect is perfect for fattening vocal tracks, adding slapback echo to drums, getting a gritty delay for guitars or using it just as a dirty tube preamp.
With a vintage style passive EQ and several independent tube stages, Tube Delay sounds great even without the delay effect and is the perfect default plug-in each time you need to give a lifeless track some color.
Abbey Road Releases Brilliance Pack Developed by Softube
Abbey Road Plug-ins is releasing the Brilliance Pack today. The
Brilliance Pack is available for TDM/RTAS/VST/AU at the Abbey Road
Plug-ins web shop
Peter Cobbin, Director of Engineering at Abbey Road Studios,
says: "Put simply - they're brilliant! I can highly recommend using
these EQs on guitars, keyboards and vocals. If you find that +/-10 dB
is not enough, do what they did back then - use two of them!"
Softube Launches Metal Amp Room, the Most Aggressive Plug-In on the Planet
Linköping, Sweden. June 5th 2008 - Softube is shipping the Metal
Amp Room plug-in for VST, AU and RTAS. Metal Amp Room is
available today at the Softube web shop ($199 excl. VAT).
Metal Amp Room was designed to bring you the most brutal, evil and
aggressive sound that is possible to squeeze out of your DAW. It was
co-developed with Patrik Jensen (The Haunted) and tailored to his
needs. The continuous mic placement from Vintage Amp Room is
back, but this time with twin mics with adjustable stereo panning. Get
a huge stereo sound with complex adjustable phasing effects, a plain
old one-mic-right-against-the-cone, or anything in between. The
cabinets were measured in the In Flames studio (previously known as
Studio Fredman) by Tue Madsen and Patrik Jensen.
Focusing on usability and sound quality, this is a plug-in that is proud
not to include a gazillion amps, effects racks, patch cords, or a blow-
dryer. Just two channels, two cabinets, two mics per cabinet, and a
wickedly fast noise gate for palm mute galore. Every setting is a
setting that will sound good, so it's almost impossible to get a useless
sound. Metal Amp Room is a real workhorse, a plug-in that will handle
all your metal needs without ever getting in your way.
Softube Ships Acoustic Feedback Deluxe for TDM, Featuring Harmonic and Sub-Harmonic Selectors
Linköping, Sweden. May 22, 2008 - Softube is now shipping the Acoustic
Feedback Deluxe plug-in, featuring harmonic and sub-harmonic
selectors, for Pro Tools HD and VENUE. Acoustic Feedback Deluxe is
available today at the Softube web shop ($199 excl. VAT).
Softube has expanded the concept by allowing the user to choose
which harmonics that will dominate during feedback, providing
greater control over the result. For even more sonic possibilities,
an optional sub-harmonic function has been added, allowing the
plug-in to feedback at half the fundamental frequency, providing a
deeper, smoother effect.
Updated Vintage Amp Room for both Mac and Windows (VST/AU/RTAS/TDM)
We have now updated all native and Pro Tools formats of Vintage Amp
Room. We found some bugs in the Pro Tools version which
affects automation and bypass, so we took the opportunity to build
new version of the other formats using our latest audio
algorithms.
Linköping, Sweden. March 19th 2008 - From now on, Softube products
can be bought directly from the newly launched Softube web
shop. Softube will take over all support and distribution from TC
Electronic, with the exception of the PowerCore versions of Softube
products. The web shop can be found
at www.softube.com
The web shop has been completely integrated into the new web site,
and features secure credit card payments through PayPal. Among other
new features on the web site are iLok demo request and enhanced support functionality.
November 12, 2007
Softube Launches Acoustic Feedback, the First Real Guitar Feedback Plug-In
Linköping, Sweden. Nov 12th 2007 - Softube is announcing the Acoustic Feedback plug-in for VST, AU and RTAS. Acoustic Feedback is available today at the TC Electronic web shop ($89 excl. VAT or $99).
Acoustic Feedback is the first ever realistic simulation of guitar feedback. After years of hard work spent on perfecting every detail of Vintage Amp Room, the developers at Softube felt obliged to create what they felt was the missing link between a real amp and an amp plug-in.
The result is a simple and intuitive plug-in which emulates the feedback effect which occurs between the guitar and the amplifier. Bundled with a special edition of White amp from Vintage Amp Room, Acoustic Feedback will rock your socks off. Seriously.
Available for native VST/AU/RTAS only. No PowerCore or Pro Tools HD required.
Nov 12, 2007: We did a small re-make of our web pages so that you will find information more easily. If there's something you don't find, just let us know!
