Valley People Dyna-mite Finally Released!

In our opinion, the Dyna-mite is just about the coolest dynamics processor there is. The typical use is to squash drums (hard limiting), add some punch to the drums or bass (limiting in AVG mode), or gate drums and get some really punchy effects. You can of course use it for de-essing, ducking, keying, noise gating as well, and you will probably notice that once you get your head around it, you'll be able to use it on just about anything!

Professional Audio Musik & Equipment has one of the most thorough reviews we've ever seen. Seven (!) pages of comparing the Tube-Tech CL 1B hardware with our software. Amazing!

Born and raised in New York City, Glenn Rosenstein began his music career at the legendary Power Station recording studio, assisting alongside some of the best and brightest producers, engineers and artists in the business. Honing his craft at New York's historic Sigma Sound, Glenn became a highly sought-after mixer and remix engineer, creating work for such artists as U2, Madonna, Talking Heads, The Ramones, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and many others. Pictures from Audio Dog demo

We did a demo session at high end audio dealer Audio Dog yesterday. I (Niklas) did the playing (and lots of talking) while Torsten took blurry photos with his cell phone...

It was a nice session with a interested and knowledgable audience (among them was Mira, the audio dog), and lots of guitar and bass talk. I don't think I had the chance to even mention our EQ's...

Reviews, Reviews, Raving Reviews!!! (En Masse!)

We have recently had tons of raving reviews sent to us! We try to update the reviews section on our web site, but sometimes it's just too much work... Here are a couple of excerpts from the last month:

Paul White, (the man, the myth, the legend), from Sound On Sound speaks about Spring Reverb and Tube Delay:

—Spring Reverb is by far the most authentic-sounding spring emulation I've heard so far.
—Even when you set the feedback control right on the edge of building up into feedback, the background mush created by the recirculating delays sounds exactly right.

Barry Rudolph of MIX Magazine fame raves about the CL 1B:

—It's a big winner for me and is a major player in all my mixes from now on!

...and then we have Niklas Silén from Pro Rec who did a raving review of the FET Compressor:

—I can not imagine myself working without it, even though we have the hardware equivalent in the studio.
—It is a very versatile and creative tool that cannot be mimicked nor matched by any other plug-in as far as I know.

Finally, there's been lots of German reviews lately. Audiowerk, our German distributor, says they're fantastic. All installers except Vintage Amp Room have been updated. This covers all Native, TDM, and Venue plug-ins for both Windows and Mac. Issues fixed range from minor inconveniences to (rare) crashes. There are also other improvements, like further optimization of most Mac plug-ins.

Metal Amp Room Updated - Tue Madsen Presets

The new Metal Amp Room release features presets containing Tue Madsen's favorite settings from his time with Metal Amp Room and his work with Engel, Heaven Shall Burn, Dagoba, Hatesphere, Ektomorf, and Sirenia among others. The names of all the new presets start with TM to distinguish them from the previous ones. Tue also likes to use Metal Amp Room on bass in parallel with the direct signal and to get that sound, just load up one of the bass presets and mix in some unprocessed sound in your DAW.

Softube's Santa Claus Alter Ego Goes Solid-State with FET Compressor

Linköping, Sweden. Dec 18th 2008 - Softube is shipping the FET Compressor plug-in for both native VST, AU, RTAS as well as the DSP-based TDM and VENUE formats. FET Compressor is available today at the Softube web shop ($279 for the native version and $449 for the TDM/VENUE version, excl. VAT).

When creating FET Compressor, Softube set out to make the most accurate emulation of the most famous solid state compressor, and very much effort has been spent modeling the real hardware to make sure that the emulation sounds exactly the same.

Nothing must stand in the way of the sound. Every single part of the simulation contributes to making this piece unique. The extremely fast attack, all the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) distortion that comes from the different parts of the compressor and the extremely careful way the signal is handled and conditioned throughout the signal chain.

On top of that we have added some useful features that still have that analog sound - but features that would've been hard or even impossible to implement with analog electronics, such as the continuous ratio, parallel compression, detector filtering and lookahead. That way you will be able to get the best of two worlds.

Softube Web Site Remake and Web Shop Launch

Linköping, Sweden. March 19th 2008 - From now on, Softube products can be bought directly from the newly launched Softube web shop. Softube will take over all support and distribution from TC Electronic, with the exception of the PowerCore versions of Softube products. The web shop can be found at www.softube.com

The web shop has been completely integrated into the new web site, and features secure credit card payments through PayPal. Among other new features on the web site are iLok demo request and enhanced support functionality.
